1/4 cup of tahini paste
1/4 cup of water
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of Bestow Beauty Oil Juice of one lemon
1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon of honey
1 clove of garlic, crushed
Blend all the above ingredients with a stick blender. Store in a jar in the fridge for several days. Use on your favourite salads and nourishing bowls (see page 59).
The sesame seeds that are used to make tahini are a good source of calcium, a mineral most well known for strengthening our bones. But did you know that calcium is a vital building block for making collagen, a fibre that is important for the firmness and elasticity of your skin?
Sesame seeds are also high in copper, another mineral important for collagen and elastin synthesis as well as encouraging wound healing and the production of the skin’s protective pigment, melanin.
